Residual Congestion

It's that time of year again when we start to settle down from the whirlwind of holiday travel and back into routine.  With that I've noticed so many coughing students in my yoga classes.  I've also had a few patients seek treatment for residual congestion or what is the "tail end" of the cold or flu virus.

Here are two of my favorite inexpensive and easy remedies for residual congestion and/or dry cough:
To drink:  Hot water with lemon juice (2 tablespoons lemon juice per 8 ounces water), three to four times per day (Lemon juice breaks up dry phlegm)
To steam:  30 drops of eucalyptus oil in a pot of boiling water.  (Eucalyptus is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-viral)
DO NOT get too close to the steam, just let it permeate throughout the room.

Take great care of yourselves.

Thanks for reading.
