Acupuncture For Neck Pain

I could have an acupuncture practice treating neck pain only.  Seriously.  If you understand the basics of acupuncture, you will remember that stagnant qi and blood cause inflammation and pain.  I have included two photos to show the flow of qi through the shoulders and neck.  I took these photos from an acupuncture wall chart.  I'm not much of a photographer, I know.

The red lines represent the meridians and may give you the idea of what the flow of qi looks like in this area of the body.  Note how the meridians have so much more space in between them in the upper back but merge closer together at the neck.  Stagnant qi causes stagnant blood which in turn causes inflammation and pressure on the nerves.  With a series of acupuncture sessions your acupuncturist can move the qi, which moves the blood.  The inflammation begins to diminish and the nerves lie freely and you feel great again.

How long until my neck pain goes away?  That is usually the next question.  It varies and all depends on how long you have had your neck pain.  Chronic cases usually take longer.  Please be patient.  A newer stiff neck may take just 2 - 4 sessions.

Thank you for reading.
